My thoughts today....
Why do women thrive off of knowing stuff? I mean, give them information and they have power; Why do kids think talking about boodies, butts, and poots is funny?; Why do I lose my brain when it comes to thinking of what is best for my kids? Is it because my heart is attached?; How come every single time I say a prayer to God, some "coincidental" conversation, meeting, letter, e-mail, etc. occurs with the answer?; How come it has taken me 32 years to somewhat come in tune with what the Holy Spirit is about and it still blows my mind?; How come I spend time on this computer alot of nights and enjoy reading about people I don't know?; How is it these people are challenging me to think of things I never would've before (is that coincidence again?)?; Why does everything that happens in my life prove to me over and over that the only thing that matters is my relationship with God and everyone else will let me down?; Why am I so blessed?; Why do deadlines or timeframes stress me out and make me become a mega-witch? Lots of weird questions, but all what is on my mind tonight. Help me out if you have any answers, I have prayed for them.

...and School Boy
Well, I survived the week. Below are pictures of Matthew's first day of school. He did wonderful. He just walked in like he owned the place. And didn't even look at me when he said "bye". He found a friend within about 1.5 seconds to play with, and they were buddies on both transition days this week. I was OK just because he did so well.
Here is Superman all dressed up this morning....
And I told Addie to clean her room this morning. She made her bed and everything. I have had her make her bed by herself several mornings but most days it didn't look much better than when she started. But today I thought she did a really good job.
This afternoon we went to a swimming party...here are Addie and her friend Ivy.
And tonight, I walked in my bedroom and in a very small corner, Addie and Matt had made a pallet (sp??) in the floor, were all covered up with blankets, and Addie was reading books to Matt. It was too cute!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

School Girl
I just can't believe it. Today was the big "1st day of kindergarten"! She is such a big girl and such a blessing!
At home before the big day...the dorky picture on the first day of school that mom took in our new clothes, holding our lunch box, etc. Yes, I am proud to be a dorky mom now, too.
She was a little timid at first...
...but there were plenty of things to learn about her new class and I am sure she will adjust just fine.
The end of the 1st day with her teacher, Mrs. Zumbrun. (I think Addie is going to do great with Mrs. Zumbrun. We go to church with her, and I hear she is very structured and strict...which I think is good for her first year. However, I am a little sad that none of Addie's close pre-K buddies are in her class with her :(. I guess that is something I am going to have to get over as a mother...I can't control everything!)
Her and the teacher's assistant, Mrs. Akins.
Tomorrow is Matt's 1st day at Pre-K. I will post pics of him soon. This week is going to kill me!!!

Recent Pictures
Last weekend, we had a family reunion of my family and my dad's sister's (Aunt Wink's) family. We swam, ate, the guys played golf, and some played poker to end the evening. It was truly a blessing to be together.
The poker game...it was real intense.
My baby sister Holly and cousin Kelly
Addie jumping off the diving board. She is a pretty impressive swimmer. She just turned five and can do a dive, a front flip...just about anything you ask her to do off the diving board.
Matthew and his buddy Tomas (don't ask why so many floaties-I'm not sure).
My sisters
Tanner and Jaxson
Aunt Wink and Mom
Jeff relaxed in the pool..think he needs another noodle?
Me and some of the kids
Then, this past week, my nephew Charlie had his 1/2 birthday party. His birthday is really Jan. 3rd, but b/c it is so close after Christmas, they have his party around his 1/2 b-day. It was a pirate party, and the kids went on a treasure hunt...they had a blast!
Addie and her best attempt as a pirate...face and all
Matthew and Charlie
This was just a recent picture of Matt dressed up as Batman. He is in the stage where he is loving to dress up-especially like the superheros.
And this is just a picture of Addie and Matt hugging. I love it when they love on each other!
And the only reason I am posting this one is because Matt picked up the camera and said, "mommy and daddy, say cheese-hamburger", and this is what we got. I thought he did a pretty good job!
