Happy B-Day Princess Addie!

Our Addie Mae turned 5 years old today. We are having her party this weekend, but took her to her choice for dinner tonight as a family. Her choice...Chuck E Cheese. What a good choice!! Although (maybe) cliche, "I see who I want to be in my daughter's eyes". She never ceases to amaze me, and I love her so much...Happy Birthday sweet Addie Mae!

(p/s-We just returned from a absolutely perfect and wonderful vacation in Seagrove Beach, FL. I will post some pics soon.)

Think they had a good time this weekend?

One thing I can say about my children is they have a good time. I think I learn more from them sometimes than they do from me. The lesson most days is...live in the moment. They have a good time and enjoy every minute they are alive (sometimes at all costs...which can be scary!), and definitely savor the excitement of each minute. Then they crash...and hard! This weekend they had a great time at Jaxson's birthday party, my mom's birthday party, and Father's day celebration in Cookeville. They played and played and swam and swam and ate and ate and played and played and laughed and laughed. Thank you, God for my children and the lessons they teach me!

"Thank you that Jesus has set us free to live a free life. Help us to take our stand to never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on us."-Galatians 5:1

Blogging

I have come to realize that blogging is going to be more of a late fall/winter/early spring type thing for me. I usually do my reading and posting in the evenings. With longer days, warmer weather, and more sunlight, I enjoy spending my evenings outside rather than in front of a computer screen. I love to water my flowers, chat with my neighbors, watch my kids run free and spend their time doing what kids should be doing on a summer night...riding bikes, catching fireflies, playing hide-n-go seek or kickball or dodge ball, jumping on the trampoline, digging for worms, eating popsicles, whatever. So if I go long spouts with no posts, it's not because I've given up on blogging, it's just because I'm outside (or at the pool, the beach, VBS, a baseball game, etc, etc). Hope you are enjoying your summer, too!

One last thing, I have found so much power and comfort lately in praying God's word. Each post I have from here on out, I am going to try and end with a bible verse. So, here's tonight's:

Isaiah 26: 12-13-"Lord, you establish peace for me; all that I have accomplished, you have accomplished for me. O Lord, our God, other lords besides you have ruled over me, but your name alone do I honor." (I changed the we/us, to I/me).

Summer Begins

So, this is our first full week out of school. We started this week/summer with: Addie enjoying a week of Cheer Camp at BBS (much to Jeff's delight, he he). This is her and her friend Ivy, who came home with us to play today after camp.

Matt just enjoying being alive,

Jeff enjoying a couple of days of golf. And myself loving a day off during the week and enjoying watching my tomatoes grow! It's going to be a good summer, I just know.
